Michael Rothberg, a researcher from the United States says that we experience errors in perception, when the brain’s struggle to make sense of the constant influx of data.

According to an article on www.lifeslittlemysteries.com, you’ve got these different types of sensory inputs coming in, and your brain is trying to filter them out and trying to make sense of them, it makes sense of them in terms of what it’s used to looking for.
