Try something new in 2012!

Kendal gives us a few tips on how to make 2012 your best year yet…

Hope you all had an awesome Christmas, New Year and holiday!

Since it’s the beginning of the year and most people make some sort of “to do list for this year”, I thought I’d help you out and give you a few ideas :)

Since we’re in the age where technology rules most of our lives, take some time to teach your mom, dad, or grandparents how to use a communication application, be it Twitter, Facebook or BBM. This will help you to communicate easier and create less confusion!

While we live in the age of technology, we still have our beautiful country around us, which doesn’t change as constantly as technology does. Take some time each day to take a walk, sit in the garden or go to the beach. Fresh air does wonders for the brain, especially with schools starting up soon, we need to be cobweb free.

Find different and unusual ways to spend your money and time. Go ice-skating, but bear in mind that you may end up rather sore, depending on how good your balance is! I’ve still got bruises from when I attempted ice-skating before Christmas! It’s a lot of fun though and definitely provides some good laughs. Have a movie night at a friend’s house or organise a picnic somewhere.

“You can never be old and wise if you were never young and crazy”- make the most out of life and don’t regret not doing something.

With school starting up, be aware of new people who may join your class – I’m sure they’d love to have a friend and be made welcome.

Try your best at school, ask questions when you need to, study hard for every test (English included!) and put 100% effort into projects…it’s so worth it.

Find a new hobby to keep you occupied: play a new sport, join a cultural club or help out in the community.

Be yourself – you’re unique and people value you for that. Respect other people and their interests too.

Go on a different holiday, something you would never really do… go to game parks, farms or the beach (if you live inland). Climb a mountain or go cycling.

Have fun this year! Make every moment memorable and live without regrets.

Hope it’s a great year for you guys! Will keep you updated as to what’s happening in my year!
