Prepping for finals

Prepping for finals

So how was your September holiday? Mine was great – I spent it at the five-star Palace Hotel at Sun City, with two of my best friends!

That’s because I had the great privilege of winning a competition that entailed a night at the Palace for three, along with pampering party, a huge goodie bag, and breakfast at the hotel the morning after. My usual bowl of cornflakes has been a sheer disappointment ever since!

I was completely overwhelmed by the experience, and it definitely gave me the motivation to make sure I study hard throughout my last few weeks of matric and study even harder throughout university, so I can make enough money to stay there again!

In 2 weeks I’ll be writing my final matric exams… I still can’t believe how fast this year has flown by. To think, in less than 2 months I’ll be finished with school forever (hopefully) makes me shudder inside. I don’t know whether I should be excited or nervous for university life!

I’ve been trying really hard to study during these “holidays” (aka 1 week break), but after studying non stop for prelims, I’m finding it hard to sit down and make study notes when I’d much rather be going out with friends or lazing in the sunshine.

My theory is that I need to take a breather before finals, otherwise I’ll be completely burnt out by the end of the first week.

It’s back to school on Monday, my last official week of matric, and then it’s go-time, I’m determined to finish my last exam with a huge smile on my face, knowing I worked my hardest and gave my all to get the outcome I want to achieve!

“Recipe for success: Study while others are sleeping; work while others are loafing; prepare while others are playing; and dream while others are wishing.” ~ William A. Ward

P.S. Stick quotes on your bedroom walls where you can see them everyday and while you’re studying, they really help in giving you motivation to pull through and keep going!
