Boy, am I looking forward to a break – I think we all are! Since I spent the last three summers of my life in the cold UK winter (Edinburgh is no joke in December - I’m talking geeky long johns with five layers of clothes over it!) I’ve decided to go all out and visit the Transkei, which I heard consists of unspoilt mile-long beaches, balmy afternoons and the freshest fish. Perfect.

I’m heading out on the 26th for a 10 day holiday, moving from one backpacker to the next. You guys should see the ultra-cool, ultra-easy, ultra-nifty tent I bought. It’s the lazy girl’s ultimate answer to camping (I hate setting up tent and always pull the “I’m a girl, I don’t know how these techy things work’ attitude. That or a long extended bathroom trip where on my return, the tent is all ready for me…I know - it’s pathetic).

Anyway, back to the cool tent…You just take the tent out of its round, flat bag and literally throw it up in the air, where ‘Poof!’ it erects itself before falling down to earth and “Voila”, you got yourself a tent to throw all your equipment in and go off exploring whilst your friends are still trying to figure out which tent pen goes where. I absolutely love bodysurfing, so that’ll probably keep me busy for the most part of the day. For the rest of the time, I’ll be lying in a hammock reading, or laughing myself silly around the fire while gorging on Red Romans with 10 good friends.

Woweee – I just psyched myself up so much! Only 14 more days…
