Do you wield the scissors in the cutting edge world of fashion? Or know which colour is going to be the ‘new black’? If the shoe fits… why not become a fashion buyer?
Imagine a lifestyle of jetting off to London, Paris and Milan and being paid to shop?! But it’s not all glitz and glamour. You play a very important role in the success of a retail company and will be responsible for interpreting trends of seasonal fashion by being in constant contact with the market (and not just paging through Seventeen!) You’ll have to draw up budgets, contribute to clothing distribution plans and negotiate with suppliers to create a strong supplier relationship.
So do you have what it takes - creativity, a perceptive nature and a readiness to take risks? A sound judgement and good organisational skills are also very important.
If so, the best way to get into the industry is to join a company who offers the training course and work your way up from there.
