Aerosol bacon, napping glasses, DVD vending machines and Marmite spray? No, we haven’t just entered Mr Wonka’s lab. The “Your Invention” section is a brand new scrumptious portion we’ve decided to add to the HIP2B² site. We’ve been getting so many emails from you guys telling us about your ideas, we decided to create a space for it on the site – the world needs to see your brilliance!
So, if your journal is bursting with ideas to improve the world, or just quirky ways to make life easier, mail us and we’ll post them on the site (remember to include your school and grade, or if you’re not in school – you’re town or city).
Credit card fraud solution
12 February 2008
Because of all the credit card fraud that has been happening lately I have come up with an idea to try and prevent it.
When you swipe your card, a picture of your face and then your details are displyed on the slip. Then the client has to verify his/her detials and show proof of ID. Maybe an inprint can be made into the card so that the details can show.
This will hopefully be an idea we can use to stop credit card fraud.

An eye for blind people
29 November 2007
My invention would be an eye for blind people. This magic eye would fit inside the eye socket of the blind person and would take images to the brain as follows:
1. convert light rays into a small current
2. the current is then translated by the brain into images

Movie vending machines
27 November 2007
I think it would be a great idea to invent a vending machine that dispenses DVD’s. You can then place these machines at the petrol stations shops and in this way you can take out movies 24 hours a day. You would probably need to load a card with credit, so that you can’t take out another movie without returning the previous one…There are very few video shops in Cape Town and I think this would be the perfect solution.

(Cold)drinks forever!
27 November 2007
I don’t know if this has been invented yet, but I would love a can of soda that can stay cold forever. Or maybe just long enough that you can finish your drink. We definitely need this in South Africa because drinking a Coke or Fanta on the beach is horrible and not refreshing at all.

A cellphone that sprays scents
26 November 2007
I have a thought of an invention that I would like to share with you guys at HIP2B²... I was thinking “what would be the best invention” and cell phones came to my mind.
I want to invent a cell phone that would have a scent instead of ring tones and vibrations. Every time there’s a new call or message the phone will spray out different scents and you will know it’s your phone. For example, if it’s a message it will spray out a strawberry flavoured scent and if it’s a call it would be some kind of axe deodorant scent.
Seeing it’s not a ring tone that you can just replace by downloading another one, you’re going to have to refill every time your scent finishes.
