Well, everything went really well I’m happy to say. The science fair at Settlers was awesome. I was very inspired by the amount of effort and time the learners put into their projects. There was one which particularly piqued my interest – how to charge a cellphone using a solar-power panel.

I guess the most important part is that they appeared to have had a lot of fun while putting their projects together. Science should be fun! Mark was also blown away by the kids he met. And the kind of questions they asked him in the open forum session… wow! I don’t think I was that mature when I was at school.

It was also really intriguing to hear his answers to these deep philosophical questions. Like this one: what does it take to become successful? In a nutshell, he said that people that are curious, that display a fascination with the world and set out to find answers, are on the path to success. And people that don’t see barriers.

You see, so many people have overcome difficult circumstances and gone on to become millionaires or become industry leaders… so there’s really no excuse. We are our own worst enemies. The guys at the top believe in themselves, and so should we.
