Scientists have devised for pot plants to have a hot line to your mobile. Is this cause for celebration? O2 levels will be more consistent, but do you really want Leafy to phone you up during your Math exam or rugby practice?
Botanicall (cute!) was developed by a team of postgraduates from New York University.
A simple moisture sensor is placed in the soil surrounding the plant, where it measures the amount of water available for the roots. This info is then passed down a wireless network to a gateway. If the plant is gasping for its last breath of air, the gate opens to patch through a call to your mobile number.
Instant re-leaf for your shrubby buddy.
