IACOCCA
An Autobiography by Lee Iacocca with William Novak
Before I begin why I like this book, here is a description about Lee Iacocca
Lee Iacocca was born October 12, 1924 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He became an American industrialist and is one of the most well known businessmen worldwide. Iacocca is the former chairman of Chrysler Corporation and he also became a passionate advocate of U.S. business exports during the 1980s.
In the early years of his career, Lee Iacocca worked for Ford. He was an expert in his field, and soon got promoted to Chairman of Ford. Then Henry Ford II sacked him, he lost everything he had worked for over the last 25 – 30 years. Then he got an offer from Chrysler (at the time Chrysler was almost bankrupt), he eventually accepted and he made it was it is today. He, with an ample amount of determination and courage, lead Chrysler into the new world. He basically had to start the company from scratch as there were many problems in it.
Overall the book was very unsparing to me, it showed me that if you believe something you can and will achieve it. I would recommend you read this book as you can learn a lot of things from it. Before I end off, just a quick quote about Champions!
"Champions do not become champions when they win the event, but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it. The victorious performance itself is merely the demonstration of their championship character."
Cya Soon!
