Krysta Morlan was only in grade 10 when she invented the "Cast Cooler".

Born with cerebral palsy (a chronic disease which impairs your movement) Krysta underwent numerous surgeries which left her in hot uncomfortable casts (if you’ve ever had one, you’ll know how itchy and uncomfortable it is, especially in 32 degrees Celsius weather!).

Instead of moping about it, she decided to solve the problem by inventing the "Cast Cooler" – a battery-powered machine that funnels cool air into the cast via a plastic tube. Pure genius! But she didn’t stop there…

To ease her months of boring physical therapy exercises in a swimming pool she invented the Waterbike. The bike is submerged, fin-powered and has a nifty rudder for steering. It was so popular that kids just wanted it for fun.

You go girl!
