Architectural and engineering teams have begun shaping the look and feel of New Mexico’s Spaceport America – a structure that symbolises the world’s first purpose-built commercial spaceport.
The 9,290 square-meter facility will serve as the primary operating base for Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic suborbital spaceliner. It seems world domination isn’t enough; it’s the universe he’s after!

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2008 and completion should be late 2009, early 2010.
