Well, we had Fun Day on Saturday, as I told you. It was totally awesome, but there were also some pretty embarrassing moments:

  • During the campaigning in the weeks before, some of the classes got to do skits in the school foyer. My brother’s class, whose theme was “fairytales” were always doing them, and let me tell you, walking past your brother every morning while he’s on his knees, singing “Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, it’s off to work we go” is not great, especially when all your friends are saying, “Isn’t that your brother?”
  • On the Friday before, we had to dress up in our theme, which, for us, was Borat. Our class had bright green T-shirts (the colour of Borat’s infamous swimming costume), and I ended up with Borat written all over my face and arms. After school, I discovered that I had to go shopping, so I ended up walking around Cresta, getting some strange looks and stares. I suppose you would stare too, if you saw a girl walking around in a baggy T, with “sexy time” written all over it, not too mention “very nice” on her fore-arms! At one point, I even had an elderly man come up to me and ask what on earth it was about!
  • On the actual Fun Day, there were lots of different activities, like a Tug o’ War, Fun Run and volleyball. I opted to do the Wet ‘n Wild challenge, which involved going down a slippery-slide sort of thing on your stomach. It was quite fun, but it was only afterwards that I realised my shirt had gone see through from the water! So I had to walk around feeling very uncomfortable for the rest of the day!
  • Today, I found that I had the most awful sunburn, and my face is completely red! The bad thing is, due to my side fringe, it’s only burnt on one side, so I look like “Two-face” from Batman or something! To make it worse, halfway through school, somebody asked, “Why is your nose blue?”, and only then did I realise that the blue after-sun gloop I’d put on before school had stained my face blue!

It’s been a pretty embarrassing few weeks, but in the end, completely worth it! I’ve had tons of fun, and had a great time! :-)
