The BA weekend was absolutely fantastic. During the first two nights we slept in tents on raised platforms at a place called Sugarbird. The tents were actually quite comfortable.

During one of those evenings we were entertained by a mad scientist called Dr Gillian Arinson. He was absolutely hilarious and by the end of his talk all of us managed to blow some water filled test tubes in tune to the South African anthem.

The next night we went on a night walk in the nature reserve. We saw loads of spiders, frogs and all sorts of other insects. Other activities included a leadership programme where we were involved in all sorts of cool activities that helped improve our leadership and team working skills.

I’d say the highlight of the weekend was when each of us got to be interviewed by Mark Shuttleworth himself. That rocked!
In total, the weekend was an informative and amazing one. I learned a lot and enjoyed myself immensely.
