Hey Guys

Wow! I’m so tired… Had an amazing weekend though,  so it’s worth it!  Went to the Kearsney Matric Dance on Saturday night and partied till rather early in the morning.  So I’m writing this in a very weary state right now.

But now, back to the blog.  My favourite sense, hmm, that’s a difficult one.  I love them all in a unique way…

My sense of smell…My favourite scent in the world is the fresh smell you get in the berg in the winter when you wake up early in the morning.  If you wrap yourself in a blanket with a hot cup of tea and are brave enough to face the cold air outside, a rush of many different aromas hit you and that mixture of different fresh smells is definitely the best in the world!

My sense of taste…Aah yummy!  If this was made for one reason, it has to be fruit.  Most delicious on a really hot day=)  My personal fav is mango and pineapple but fruit salad really takes the cake!  Another delicious taste is chocolate (I’m sure lots of you would agree with me on this one)

My sense of sight…Imagine not being able to see, you can hear the call of a bird and the rush of water of a waterfall but you are never able to see these amazing sights!  Last December holidays I went to a place called Lydenburg which is in the northern part of our beautiful country.  We saw some of the most incredible sights you will ever see…places like ‘God’s Window’, ‘Potholes’ (which are holes made in the rocks from years of weathering from the elements) and some magnificent waterfalls.  I am so thankful that I have my sight and would hate not being able to see.

My sense of touch…a mother’s soft hands, a father’s prickly beard and the cold wet dew on the grass in the morning.  Your sense of touch allows you to be able to tell the difference between objects even if you can’t see them and this is sometimes very helpful - especially in the dark!  Whenever we go to the game reserve, we are encouraged by my parents to feel the different types of grasses and this helps classify them.  It is very interesting to touch all these different and fascinating textures.

My sense of hearing…now this is my favourite one!  Imagine a world without music.  I personally cannot imagine this and think life would be very dull.  Apart from playing my musical instruments, I love listening to music and my iPod speakers are blasting tunes all day, everyday!!

I am very blessed to have all my senses and would find it very difficult if I lost one of them.

Why not take the time to sit somewhere in the garden or in a park and listen, look, smell, and touch but be careful what you taste!!

Hope you all have an awesome week as you wind down and get ready for an exciting holiday…Time to RELAX and hit the beach=)
