My favourite invention just has to be the calculator. Yes, I know that may sound like a typical comment you would hear from ‘the nerd herd’, but I think that a calculator is the most invaluable tool that will get you through high school! I could not imagine a world where I had to work out a sum like

Find the answer to tan [67] = x

…in my final matric maths paper. Can you imagine! I had the worst imaginable scenario happen to me a few years ago when the batteries of my calculator died on me in the middle of a test, and I had no spare calculator on standby (I hope that nobody is unfortunate enough to have THAT happen to them.) My results for the test were not too great (to put it lightly!), which goes to prove that perhaps we owe a lot of our maths marks to a little plastic box with a screen and buttons! TGFC – thank goodness for calculators!!!!!

PS – The answer to the sum was actually 2.36  .I will have to thank my calculator for that one :]
