Hi everyone, before I tell you my “delayed” thoughts on the BA weekend let me tell you who I am! My name is Anant Dole, I live in Cape Town and I am 14 years old. The reason I am doing this so late is because I was away on various chess tours and I unfortunately only managed to attend one day of the BA weekend. But whatever I did participate in was fantastic. I especially liked the activities that we did and I am going to describe one of them to you. I have titled it the “The Running Around Number Game”
There were 6 sheets of paper which contained different numbers. These sheets were scattered over a small area. There were 10 numbers per sheet, i.e. 60 numbers in total. We got told a number in the beginning that would start us off, our group’s number was 17. So it said 17 to 36, now we would have to go to another sheet to find the number 36. So as you must have realized to do this 60 times would take some time!
The reason I enjoyed this activity is that we were the only group to realize instead of running every 10 seconds to another sheet, why not get all the numbers on 1 sheet/close together. So we each got our own piece of paper and copied the 6 sheets. It then took us less than 10 min to complete the rest of the activity.
Lastly I would like to thank everyone who helped me throughout the whole weekend/day, because you really made my life a lot easier! That’s all for now, my next blog will be in the New Year! I wish you all a Happy New Year!
Bye!
