I bring you terribly sad news. The lovely South African actress, Ashley Callie, who is well known for her role as Leone (Lee) Haines on the SA soapie, Isidingo, was involved in a car accident on the eve of Friday 8th February whilst returning home from a function. The collision was head-on and she was immediately admitted to hospital where she received urgent brain surgery but remained in a stable condition. That was until 2 days ago. On Friday the 15th Ashley succumbed to her head injuries and passed away :-(.

Life is a fickle thing with death threatening at every corner we take on the path through existence; one has no way of knowing when we will run out of road. Nobody would ever have thought that today Ms Ashley Callie would no longer be with us, but this is the sad fact. What we need to do is make every minute of our lives count. Put your best effort into all the things you do on the first try because you never know when or if you’ll ever get another opportunity.

Never leave anything between you and a loved one unspoken either. Make the special effort to say, “Have a safe trip Mom,” or, “Goodbye Dad. Enjoy your day at work,” every single morning. That way, if you never get to see them again (God forbid), you will be left with the small comfort of knowing that you at least got to say goodbye.

I offer my sincere condolences to the family, friends and fans of Ashley Callie. She will be sorely missed. Until next week, keep experiencing each day as though it were your last.
