IQ - Intelligence Quotient (how smart you are)
EQ – Emotional Quotient (how you well you use that smartness)

The saying I like the best that I think defines them both well is,
“IQ gets you hired, EQ gets you promoted.”

Your IQ is awesome because it tells you how much brain capacity you have (which can be really motivating if you are not reaching your full potential). Your EQ is awesome too because it tells you all about your emotional side which is pretty big. Your EQ can tell you things about your personality, the way you think, how you cope with day to day problems and how you communicate to society.

Some people may have a high IQ but their EQ is low, these people are very intelligent but unfortunately they probably won’t ever use their intelligence or even know they have such potential. This is because they have emotional problems.

Geneticists say that you can’t improve your IQ but social scientists say you can. I personally believe that you can (by simply reading you gain a large amount of information and, if you continue to read you allow your brain to gain a certain amount of intelligence.) But while IQ is busy being debated, social scientists have concluded that you can improve your EQ by becoming more exposed to different things and going to shrinks for mental therapy.

You can be another Einstein in the making (IQ), but if you don’t channel or use that intelligence (EQ) then it will be waste and in a couple of year’s time you will even forget you have it. That is why have a high EQ is so important, because that is the thing that helps you think straight and allows you to use your intelligence and reach your full potential.

So MY RANDOM TIP FOR LIFE IS: In words of Darwin, “The biggest, the strongest, the smartest are not the survivors. It’s rather, the most adaptable.” Those of us who survive and thrive in this complex world are not only the most adaptable but also optimists and the most likely to have a high EQ.
