Well, where to begin?  There are so many events that have been absolutely terrible in the history of mankind, but we have managed to work through them and have learnt from our mistakes.  Even when everyone thought it had to be the end of the world, it took a few brave people to keep up the struggle for peace.

World War One and Two brought lots of pain and death to many countries.  The Holocaust saw Jews in concentration camps and gas chambers while Apartheid saw many black people killed for standing up for their human rights.  9/11 was a display of the worst side of terrorism and its aftermath – the Iraqi war.  The ongoing struggle in Zimbabwe is a result of one man’s greed which is typical of our continent’s leaders.

I could sit here listing these moments that have scarred our history but it all boils down to one main event.  This event was the first terrible thing that ever happened in the history of the earth.  It is when sin was first brought into the world and separation between God and mankind all started.  The event I would erase from history is that when Eve was tempted and took a bite from the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden.  In my opinion this definitely was a defining moment in history and was the source of all the worlds’ troubles up to date.
