After writing nothing about myself in last week's blog, I thought I'd bore you a bit about who I am and why I'm here, editing this (I need a few of those marvelous Roald Dahl adjectives like "scrumptiolicious" or "earthgargantically great") website.
I'll start at the beginning: I was born on a rainy morning, back in 1981. My parents were expecting a little boy, the first in a family of only girls. Back then the sonar's weren't as high-tech as the ones they use today and according to the screen, I was a boy.
Imagine the surprise and disappointment when out came yet another girl. With nothing to name me (I was suppose to be called Chris after my great grandfather) they thought for a while and decided on Nina seeing that it fitted my surname 'Liebenberg" quite nicely. Later I learned Nina meant " little girl" in Spanish and thought "how appropriate!".
(Skipping a little)
• At three, I started drawing. I used to pull the curtains back from the wall and draw little people where nobody would see them, always starting with the feet first and then moving up to the head.
• Ten of age saw me playing the piano. I did that until I was sixteen for about 3-4 hours a day and then just stopped doing it.
• Eighteen years old and, on deciding to become a fine artist, studying it at Stellenbosch.
• Nineteen years old: realized that you never need to restrict yourself to only one thing. I loved art, music and science and I was going to start messing around with them all at once and see what the result turn out to be. The result was the start of a whole lot of fun. Oodles of it.
• Twenty years old: Got the hang of it in a big way. Did projects where I incorporated music, entomology (bugs), weather patterns, art and lots of other stuff as well.
I just realized this blog was getting a bit lengthy and I’d rather sign off now and keep you hanging, hopefully wanting more.
I am dying to tell you more about the projects. You also need to know about some amazing people who will make you think twice about the type of career that you want to pursue.

Ciao for now!
