Love is in the air…roses, hearts and chocolates. Secret admirers and long mysterious love letters. One whole day set aside for sharing the love. Showing someone how much you care and opening up your heart to something new. Yes, I’m talking about Valentines Day!
Hope you all had the most amazing Valentines Day and got spoilt by someone special. It is important to let people know that they are loved and thought about. From a girls perspective, I think it is so brave for a guy to step out and send a rose to someone who they secretly admire. It is always such a lovely surprise for any girl to receive something like this and has them guessing for days on end!
I was thinking about the topic of love the other day and it just hit me how many songs revolve around love. “Love don’t let me go,” “I just called to say I love you,” “Where is the love?” “She will be loved,” and the list could go on forever. But this shows how much a part of life it is. We use the word ‘love’ everyday – its part of our vocabulary. We love that new TV program; love that cd that’s just come out; love the movie we just watched. Unfortunately, in the English language we have to use the same word to describe the love shared between a happily married couple and the love for that stunning dress in the window of the corner shop. Surely this is a different love? Apparently in Eskimo language (which is called Inuit ) there is something like 32 different ways of saying ‘love’. Just think about that the next time you use this deep – but sometimes too lightly used – word.
Quote for the week:
“Love sees with the heart, not with the mind”. William Shakespeare
Hope you guys have a love-ly week.
Share the love…
