It’s official: I’m back at gym.
Once upon a time, I was a very active and fit little bunny who loved walking or running just about anywhere my legs could take me. When I got my car, I’d spoil myself with trips to the gym twice a day just because I enjoyed exercise so much. And then all that came to an abrupt end. So, now I’m back, making a concerted effort to reclaim my former fitness level and participate in a fab fitness challenge from one of the country’s leading women’s magazines.

But there’s other changes happening all around me. Hip2b2 has a whole new website, a new look magazine, a new look show, a brand new set and, coming in October, a handsome new presenter. The seasons are changing and summer is making its presence known. Fashions are changing and I’m already shopping for new shoes. Times are changing and we’re all concerned with global warming. And, best and worst of all, my age is changing pretty soon and so comes another year where I should probably make a few changes within myself.

I don’t really like the notion of change. It seems so harsh and unkind. I prefer to call it improvement. Someone once told me that change is all about using your strengths to improve your weaknesses and making those improvements are easier when you choose to appreciate your strengths rather than harping on the weak points. Clearly this person was very clever and it bugs me that I can’t remember who shared this pearl of wisdom. Anyway, that’s how I am going to tackle this whole change thing from now on. I reckon if we all view change this way, there’d be a lot more people at gym.
