HIP2B² was launched in 2002 as part of the First African in Space Campaign. The idea was to make Mark Shuttleworth's adventures in space, and the scientific research conducted while in orbit, available to learners.

HIP2B² believes that education, particularly in the sciences, is the foundation for personal and career prosperity. In short, it is the biggest investment you will ever make, and the dividends you receive will be enormous. By diligently applying yourself to your studies in STEM (Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship and Maths), you will be greatly rewarded for your efforts.

When you immerse yourself in these disciplines, you cultivate an enquiring mind that can think outside the box, and see opportunity and innovation in the world around you. As a natural by-product, you will also develop analytical thinking skills. With these, you will see 'challenges' where others see 'problems,' and this analytical ability will enable you to master your universe, whether it's creating fantastic enterprises, coming up with business ideas or finding solutions to global problems.

HIP2B² also aims to be the best teen 'edutainment provider' in South Africa . We want to make Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship and Maths accessible to all learners. And if you thought that these subjects can only be tackled by the A-class kids - you know, those wearing Harry Potter glasses and carrying piles of books during lunch-break (just teasing) - think again. Did you know that Albert Einstein was a very poor Maths student in his time? If you've got a moment, check out this study. It really does prove that there's power in positive thinking - and that limits are just mental constructs we impose on ourselves.

HIP2B² wants to inspire you to put your brain to good use, and ultimately to be the best that you can be.
