Simone: So I guess I'm gonna ask myself a question and then answer it.
Simone: Sounds interesting!
Simone: How about pollution?
Simone: I love the environment!
Simone: Do I think that pollution is reversable?
Simone: NO WAYS!!! Are you aware that:
3.5% of global carbon dioxide emissions are released from the African
continent. South Africa is the single largest contributor to total carbon
dioxide emissions on the African continent. We contribute to more than 40%
of Africa's emission and we are ranked as the 15th largest emitter of
greenhouse gases in the world.
Pollution is a high concentration of detrimental substances that are beyond the environment's capacity to handle.
It creates an overload in the normal processing cycles. Pollution is not a biodegradable substance, as it
cannot be broken down by the environment's biological systems.
I think that we have polluted some parts of the earth to a point that it
cannot be reversed. We cannot patch up the ozone hole, we cannot create
glaciers to lower the sea level, we cannot bring back animals and plants
that have become extinct and we certainly cannot bring back humans that
died because of climate change. We cannot fix whole cities, washed away
in a flood. We cannot replace national and international monuments that have
been corroded by acid rain. We cannot remove the asthma from a person. We
cannot cure lung cancer. We cannot rebuild houses and buildings that have
been sucked up by the earth in earthquakes and, we cannot remove all the
greenhouse gases from this earth. We just cannot. We are one of the most
intelligent animals on this earth, yet, we are the force that is destroying
it.
Pollution is not reversable, but it is preventable!
Remember the effects that you doing to the environment everytime you
pollute.
STOP IT! YES, YOU!
