Nanotechnology: Small world

We’ve heard the term countless times before but what exactly is nanotechnology?

According to an article on www.nanotechbuzz.com, the concept behind nanotechnology, or nanotech, is that it’s the ongoing study of controlling matter on both the atomic and the molecular scale. It’s about developing products, such as switch boards and circuits, that measure between 1 and 100 on the nanometer.

Nanotech is all about device physics as well as learning how to approach things based on the idea that molecules can assemble themselves. There are scientists and engineers right now trying to use nanotech to figure out if there is any way to control matter on the atomic scale.

From cars to tennis balls, nanotechnology is out of the lab and in the items we use every day. It’s already used in hundreds of products, maybe even the skin cream you just put on, but how far can the technology go?

What do you know about nanotechnology? Let us know!
