Mzansi inventions - CAT Scanner

The Computed Axial Tomography Scanner, better known as the CAT scanner, was invented in South Africa in 1979 by Allan Cormack and UK researcher Godfrey Hounsfield. Based on Allan’s research, the scanner made it possible to take three-dimensional X-rays of the human body to detect diseased tissue. What a medical breakthrough!
