HIP2B² together with 3M launched the INNOVATION CHALLENGE which will see learners competing for the title of Innovator of the Year and the opportunity to develop and market their innovation with the help of 3M.

We finally have the top 5 finalist teams in the Innovation Challenge.

These teams will now get the opportunity to rework and refine their projects during a 5-day workshop at the Vaal University of Technology in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng; presented by the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA).

They are:

·         Masonwabe Jubase & Skhumbuzo Nkosana
from Maphutha Secondary (Gauteng)
·         Nompilo Noluthando & Gabela Nkanyiso Mbongwa
from Dassenhoek Secondary (KZN)
·         Yandisa Mfaku & Tylutho Tyalimpi
from Desmond Mpilo Tutu SSS (Western Cape)
·         Wendy Hadebe & Nobuhle Majola
from Nilgiri Secondary School (KZN)
·         Nhlakanipho Shezi & Thabani Dlamini
from Uxolophambili High School (KZN)

Immediately afterwards, they will present their final projects on Thursday, 18 October at 3M Headquarters in Johannesburg during which the 2012 South African Young Innovator of the Year  will also be announced.
