Do something new!

Zandile gives us a few tips on how to make sure your holiday is more exciting than it usually is. Check this out…

As exams are coming to an end, one already foresees a hot, long and not to mention, monotonous holiday coming up (pardon me if your holidays are just top class awesome). Instead of just sitting around, one ought to just break the monotonous routine and try something new…

I’ve already started making a few changes of my own, now its your turn to try some out…

1. Do a new sport that you were too lazy to do a few months back, or even better, try that new activity you’ve been pondering for months, but just hadn’t gotten around to, like dancing lessons.

2. Eat something new, it doesn’t have to be as dramatic as my vegetarianism, but just try a new taste for fun. Like sushi or “smoked chicken and onion pizza”. As weird as it sounds it might end up being your favourite meal for keeps!

3. Find a job, or better yet, create one. No Rocket Science required, all you need to do is to find something practical yet fun, you can’t possibly expect to build a multimillionaire empire at 15! So do something realistic to your strengths and you’ll find yourself at the movies with your friends with a few rand to spare.

4. Put that phone away, get up from your couch and just catch some air outside. An hour spent technically silent surely can’t hurt that much, but if it does, than you need REHAB not just a walk…

The list is endless, but just so we’re clear, I’m merely suggesting you do something new, not encouraging anything dangerous and unthinkable.

If you are afraid of heights, then don’t go skydiving, and if you are allergic to fish, don’t go eating sushi, it’s sheer logic!

I’m trying to learn Spanish and well, lets just hope I won’t end up leaving it like iI did dancing, the recorder, knitting etc…

Whatever the challenge might be, go for it! Break out of your shell and try out something different. Take it as a new way to go about ending a great year and starting off an even greater one!

XoXo
