Beep beep

Zandile needs some tips on how to not give in to the dreaded ‘beep beep’, especially during exams. Can you help her?

If I had to state my number one weakness and ultimately the biggest threat to my studies at the moment, the award would go to the reigning champ and still the biggest contender of all…THE PHONE!

I know I seem quite crazy to be talking about such a random topic, when in fact I should be informing you about my exams, but seriously, ask any teenager and they will agree with me.

Just when I get into study mode and all my focus is finally on the book in front of me, my cellphone vibrates! My fingers twitch around my pockets trying to decide whether I should answer or not. My mind goes from the Chemistry book in front of me to my pocket, slowly but surely progressing to take the device out.

I mean seriously now, telling that one person on WhatsApp how I’m doing won’t hurt right? Huh, next thing I know I’m chatting up a storm with all my contacts, updating my Facebook status and logging onto MXit to just tell a friend about the day’s events, not to mention going to my Ovimail account to check my inbox (not particularly in that order)…I’m sure you get the picture.

I spend quite a bit of time on my phone. Ok, that’s putting it lightly. The longest I was separated from my phone (excruciatingly long it seemed), was TWO hours. After our reunion you should’ve seen how I flooded my wall with updates on my Facebook profile.

Its actually bad and I think I need help-sans Doctor Phil. So if you’ve ever been in my shoes and know what I’m talking about, please send me some tips, I NEED them!

I sure hope your exams have been going better then mine and that your own phone hasn’t led to such bad procrastination habits. BlackBerry users are the worst, trust me!

So you better go now, ”Don’t talk to strangers, study hard and don’t do drugs!”

Keep you posted until next time, mwahs!

PS. I LOVE ALL OF MY SUPPORTERS, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO’VE BEEN THERE FOR ME FROM THE START. MY FELLOW FRIENDS FROM GENERAL SMUTS HIGH AND RIVERSIDE HIGH. MI MUCHAS AMOR YE MI AMOGOS!
